EU mobile phone roaming
charges are set to be scrapped from next week
It will be
cheaper to make calls and texts abroad
Mobile phone users are in for a
pleasant surprise if they plan to go on holiday in Europe after next week.
An EU law change means
roaming charges will be abolished across Europe, which means you will no longer
need to worry about how much making calls, sending texts and internet usage will cost.
The changes will be
introduced from Thursday, June 15, and it will mean millions of British
people will not have to pay more to call, text or use the internet than they
would in the UK.
You will also be able to
call and text anyone in the EU at your normal UK rate. So if your friends and
family are away they can call you and it won't incur extra costs.
